Handel’s Ice Cream
Handel’s Ice Cream was founded on a simple yet powerful idea; to create ice cream that warms your heart and your taste buds with every scoop. Alice’s commitment to the quality and flavor of each carefully crafted ice cream is the reason Handel’s gained popularity in Youngstown and the surrounding areas quickly. Each Handel’s store has more than 45 flavors that rotate, currently the two flavors of the month are Oreo Dough (my personal favorite) and the classic strawberry that is made with real berries. They also recently released a new flavor Carrot Cake which is bursting with warm spices and swirled with rich and smooth cream cheese.
Each new location grows Handles inspiration for new ice cream flavors. While maintaining its classic offerings, Handle’s also embraced local tastes and introduced flavors inspired by each new area it opened a shop in. Two flavors that were inspired by the Arizona expansion were Prickly Pear Sorbet and Cactus Cooler Sherbet. Although their ice cream flavors are the best in the world (If you ask someone from Youngstown at least), they are also loved because of the experiences and memories people cherish from there. Whether it’s family gatherings for a sweet treat after a day of exploring, a cool snack after a sports game, or friends catching up over a cone of their favorite flavor, Handel’s creates moments of joy and connection.
